Hon. Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North, has taken another significant step toward improving early childhood education by partnering with international non-profit organization Pencils of Promise to break ground for a modern 4-unit kindergarten (KG) block at Kave M/A Basic School.
The project, which includes ancillary facilities, is expected to provide a safe, conducive, and child-friendly learning environment for young pupils in the community.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. Agbana emphasized the importance of investing in foundational education, noting that quality infrastructure plays a crucial role in shaping the learning outcomes of children. He also stated that he is releasing an initial fund of Ghs125,000 for the purchase of sandbags and gravels.
He expressed gratitude to Pencils of Promise for their collaboration and reaffirmed his commitment to expanding educational opportunities across the constituency.
The new KG block is set to feature modern classrooms, sanitation facilities, and other essential amenities designed to enhance teaching and learning. When completed, the facility is expected to ease congestion, improve enrollment, and contribute to better academic performance among pupils at Kave M/A Basic School.
This partnership highlights the growing role of public-private collaboration in addressing educational infrastructure deficits in underserved communities.
