1 min read

The Government of Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with universities, particularly the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), to drive research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry partnerships.

Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the investiture of Professor Christian Agyare as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Chief of Staff Hon. Dr. Julius Debrah described the occasion as not only a leadership transition but also a reaffirmation of the vital role education plays in national development and transformation.

Hon. Dr. Debrah praised Chancellor Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his stewardship and commended outgoing Vice-Chancellor Professor Rita Akosua Dickson for her distinguished service.

He expressed confidence in Professor Agyare’s leadership and emphasized the need for universities to translate knowledge into practical solutions that create jobs, address societal challenges, and support Ghana’s economic transformation agenda under the “Resetting Ghana” vision.
