GETFund Launches Nationwide Campaign to Supply Essential School Furniture

2 min read

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has rolled out a national campaign designed to rally classroom furniture for basic, junior high, and senior high schools grappling with acute supply deficits across the country.

According to GETFund, the initiative stems from an influx of appeals from educational institutions requesting urgent furniture support to elevate the quality of teaching and learning environments.

The drive targets a wide range of essential furnishings, including single and dual metal desks, student chairs, bunk beds, and teachers' tables and chairs—all vital for maintaining safe, functional classrooms.

GETFund stressed that bridging this equipment gap demands a unified public-private response to reinforce existing state-led interventions.

“The Collective Furniture Appeal is a response to numerous requests from schools across the country seeking support to provide essential classroom furniture,” GETFund stated.

The organization noted that the project advances President John Mahama’s broader agenda to revamp Ghana’s education sector by leveraging strategic collaborations, creative funding models, and joint accountability.

Furthermore, the effort falls under the scope of the broader EFPI initiative, an avenue through which GETFund aims to boost private-sector engagement and philanthropic investments in national educational infrastructure.

“Together, let us support the President’s vision for education by furnishing our classrooms, empowering our teachers, inspiring our learners, and ensuring that no child is left behind,” the Fund added.
