Dr. and Mrs. Apetorgbor donated 5,600 exercise books and 300 marker boards to basic schools across the Keta Municipality on September 11, 2026. The presentation ceremony took place at the Keta Municipal Education Directorate, drawing key stakeholders, community leaders, and local officials. Receiving the generous contribution, the Director of the Keta Education Service expressed profound gratitude, commending the couple for their dedication to enhancing learning resources for children in the municipality.
Delivering remarks on behalf of the family, Mrs. Enyonam Apetorgbor called for a shift away from political division in the educational sector. She emphasized that politicians must avoid politicizing education, noting that students care about having the necessary tools to learn rather than which political institution provided them. Her speech underlined the priority of providing desks, chairs, and learning materials above political interests to ensure every child gets a fair chance at academic success.
The event also featured contributions from local government leadership, with the Municipal Chief Executive addressing community development needs. Highlighting the importance of balanced municipal growth, the MCE remarked that if development projects or imported shipments such as those containing statues arrive in the area, they should be expanded to directly serve the wider welfare and infrastructure needs of the entire Keta Municipality.
The presentation concluded with widespread celebration from the attending students, who expressed immense joy and gratitude for the support. Under the distribution plan, exercise books will be handed directly to individual students, ensuring immediate relief to families and supplying young learners with essential supplies for the school year.
